Educational Qualifications

  • Must possess a degree with Accounting, Commerce, Business, or Trade/Public Management as a main subject from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), or an equivalent degree-awarding institution recognized by the UGC.

  • Alternatively, have passed the qualification certificate or intermediate examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka), or Certificate in Accounting and Business II (CAB II) / Business Level / Business Level II examination, or a higher level examination.

  • Alternatively, have passed the Management Level or a higher level examination of the Association of Professional Bankers / Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (CMA Sri Lanka).

  • Alternatively, have successfully completed a Higher Diploma course in Accounting or Business, or a National Higher Management Diploma course at a Sri Lankan Technical College, Institute of Technology, or Institute of Advanced Technological Education.

  • Alternatively, possess a degree in Tax Law, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Computer Technology (Note: Recruitment under this category is limited to a maximum of 10% of the total vacancies).

Professional Qualifications

  • Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.

  • Must possess good character and not be a religious priest.

  • Must fulfill all qualifications by the closing date of applications (October 12, 2026).

  • Acquisition of professional proficiency in an official language as per Public Administration Circular No. 18/2020 during the probation period.

Age Limit

  • Applicants must be not less than 22 years of age and not more than 28 years of age as of the closing date of applications (October 12, 2026), meaning birthdays must fall on or after October 12, 1998, and on or before October 12, 2004.

  • For applicants currently in the public service, the age limit is up to 45 years.

  • Online applications open on September 14, 2026, at 9:00 AM and close on October 12, 2026, at 9:00 PM.

  • The examination fee is Rs. 1,200.00, payable via credit/debit cards, Bank of Ceylon online banking (Flex app), or at any Bank of Ceylon branch using the online payment system instructions.

  • Current public service officers must submit a copy of their application to their institution head for their personal file and later present a certified copy and service confirmation letter at the interview.
