The Animal Production and Health Department (North Central Province)

1. Educational Qualifications

  • G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L): Passed three (03) subjects at one sitting, including at least two (02) subjects from the following stream: Agriculture, Biology, Physics, Zoology, Bio-Systems Technology, Bio-Resource Technology, or Agricultural Technology.

  • G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L): Passed six (06) subjects at one sitting with credit passes for Sinhala/Tamil/English language, Science, Mathematics, and one other subject.

2. Professional Qualifications

Must fulfill at least one of the following options:

  • A two-year Diploma in Agriculture or a Diploma in Animal Husbandry awarded by an institute recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).

  • National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) Level 6 relevant to the job field.

  • Other technical qualifications recognized by the TVEC as being equivalent to the above technical qualifications, following consultations with the Ministry of Higher Education and the issuing institutes.

4. Age Limit

  • Must be not less than 18 years and not more than 30 years as of the closing date of applications (October 19, 2026).

  • Note: The upper age limit does not apply to officers already in permanent service in the Public Service or Provincial Public Service.

5. How to Apply

  • Format: Prepare your application on both sides of an A4 size paper following the model application form provided at the end of the notice. All information must be filled clearly in your own handwriting.

  • Application Fee: An examination fee of Rs. 720.00 must be paid to any Divisional Secretariat Office within the North Central Province to be credited to the revenue head 2003.02.13 (using the NC 100 form). The original receipt must be firmly pasted onto the designated place on the application.

  • Attestation: Your signature on the application must be attested by a Principal of a Government School, Justice of the Peace, Commissioner for Oaths, Notary Public, Commissioned Officer in the Tri-Forces, a Gazetted Police Officer, or a Permanent Staff Officer in Government/Provincial Public Service.

  • Submission via Channels: Applicants already in the Public or Provincial Public Service must submit their applications through their respective Department Head.

  • Closing Date & Address: Send your completed application via registered post on or before October 19, 2026, to the following address:
